Cremation Service

For families that choose cremation, there are several options for the type of services that the funeral home can provide.  We offer a variety of cremation merchandise, including caskets and urns, that will meet your financial needs. Our goal at Spaulding & Curtin is to provide a positive, meaningful experience based on the wishes of each family that we have the privilege of helping.

Cremation Options

Immediate Cremation

This service can be arranged as an immediate disposition of the body, but is most times followed by a memorial service at the church, funeral home or other location. A Memorial Service is one where the body is not present.  We encourage families, if time allows, to privately view the remains before burial takes place.  Viewing the deceased is a vital part of acknowledging that the death has occured.  Having some type of gathering or service to remember a life lived is also an important part of the grieving process.

Traditional Cremation Service

A traditional service is one with family or public visitation and a service with casketed remains present before cremation takes place.  Services can be held at a place of worship or the funeral home.  There are caskets designed for cremation available for purchase or families can choose to use a rental casket.  Following cremation, the cremated remains can be buried, properly scattered or given to the family for safe keeping.  Urns are used to hold the cremated remains, and are typically constructed using metal, wood or ceramic.

Now that we've given you the basics, it's time to reflect more on exactly what is appropriate for you and your family.
